A car was stolen from outside a Tinley Park gas station Friday evening. The victim fired shots as it was happening, police said. (Shutterstock)TINLEY PARK, IL — A man shot at his own vehicle as it was stolen from outside a gas station in Tinley Park Friday evening, police said Saturday. The thief then ditched the vehicle just blocks from the scene, and fled in a chase car, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident, which happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday. The offender took the car from outside a Shell station at 171st and Harlem, abandoning it shortly after in the 16700 block of Harlem Avenue, Tinley Park Police Chief Matthew Walsh told Patch.
