A 63-year-old Tinley Park man was arguing with another dog owner when the incident happened, police said. TINLEY PARK, IL — A Tinley Park man faces an assault charge after a confrontation at a dog park Monday led to him flashing a gun and threatening another dog owner. Joseph Newren, 63, was at the Canine Campus, 182nd and 84th Avenue, when he and the other person fought for unknown reasons over their pets, Tinley Park Police Chief Matthew Walsh told Patch. Newren then flashed a gun, which was determined to be a starter pistol, or a blank firing gun designed for the purpose of starting races.
